gluttoness - "orthodox cannibalism volume III"

"Orthodox Cannibalism was created by using 2 blank (and 1 nearly blank) cassettes uncovered at the local thrift store which may, based on the material found on one tape which had been recorded on to completely, date back as far as the late 1960's.

The process was to use each beautifully hissy, crackly, juddering side as a sound source processed through multiple distortions and then record the resulting wall back on to the same side of the same tape, hence the cannibalism.

The walls on each side of each tape are completely static, unmoving and free of vocals, hence the orthodoxy.

Be forewarned that the sounds herein have been severely altered by the natural decay of the antique tapes resulting in hiss, volume drops and warping. "

okay so, if you didn't know better, just looked at the artwork and track listing, you'd see that this is a four way split.
however, now that several years have passed, we all do know better.
i'll leave it at that.
even still, 20 years after its release, this is easy to spot as a fantastic release.
i can't imagine that at the very least a couple of these tracks won't make you move violently in a joyous manner.

i cut the two sides into bite sized morsels as best i could a few years ago.
an interesting listen(and lesson) from the legendary hal mcgee.
  discogs calls it "Abstract, Musique Concrète, Noise, Experimental"  i think 'harsh' should be in there somewhere too, as it definitely is at times.
