TIMINGILA - "s/t" (limited edition 1995 oral gestation artefacts)

the cover looks like something that belongs on a proud parents refrigerator.
one of my more cherished cassettes from yesteryear...

Timingila had this tape released and distributed by o.g.a. (oral gestation artefacts) in the mid 90's. credits: Electronics – John Wiese
the tape consists of some very interesting experimental recordings, some of which with more industrial leanings, strange but very enjoyable imho.
anyway, check it out...there is absolutely nothing to be found about this on the web thus far which is quite unfortunate. (at least as far as i can tell)
do please enjoy.

*all tracks are untitled or at least unlisted*

final judgement - "desolating sacrilege" (1994 Anastasia Records) [re-re-re-re-post]

been waiting to post this for a long while now.
keep in mind this came out of the 1994 'christian' underground when evaluating its 'kickassness'.
the quality could be better, but it probably sounds a good solid bit better than my cassette rip does.
you can crank this fucker easily.
shout out to tempered steel radio for turning me on in the early 90's.
track 11 is a fast thrashy banger and the weird tribal drumming on track 3 are a treat.

1. Pre-life Vivisection
2. Covenant With Evil
3. I Do What I Do Not Want To Do
4. Habitual Sacrifice
5. Shortway to Hell
6. Past
7. Bloodshed
8. Carnal Conception
9. Via Doloros
10. Ssorcthgirpun4yhtrownu
11. Unworthy

fear of faith - "tension" (1994 running dog)

https://www.discogs.com/Fear-Of-Faith-Tension/release/7896844

one of my favorite bands -----ever..... too bad they never got the production values and studio time they definitely deserved...

*the band DID go on (if only for a little while)... it morphed into Eleven and then Industry XI, producing one demo and one full length pro-cd which i carried in my old distro a.i.musick.... it was all quite good i must admit, but a different animal from fear of faith...*

various artists - "Tribute to Living Sacrifice" (2001 clenched fist)

one of the rare tribute albums that really satisfies.
many different bands of many different styles, from thrash to black, to  doom, rework living sacrifice tracks from their first several years in the highest quality way.
most of the covers come from the early (imho best period of l.s.) recordings with some from 'reborn' as well. All of the bands doing covers here do a great job here however, each adding their own twist.
see artists and tracks covered below in the track list.
forget whatever belief system is attached...justly or not, this is some fantastic metal.

1 Mindrage - Haven of Blasphemy
2 Crutch - Breathing Murder
3 Mordecai - Not Beneath
4 Soul Embraced - Truth Solution
5 Gnashing of Teeth - No Longer
6 Kekal - Mind Distant
7 Crimson Thorn - Anorexia Spiritual
8 Soterios - Distorted
9 Clemency - In the Shadow
10 Mistral - Threatened
11 Dwell Beneath - Unseen

Deracination - "times of atrocity" (1992 self released)

heard these guys on the radio back in the early 90's and immediately fell in love. took me the better part of a decade to get a copy of this cd.  the one track from the following demo (which also appeared on a Rowe compilation) let us in on the awesomeness of the next step for the band.  Very unfortunately i've only ever heard the one track.  if anyone has any info on that later demo please let me know. (of course i do realize that very few will read this, fewer will download this, and if over 8 years one person is a fan..well...we'll see)
and just because i'm such a fan(and hope you will be too!)...i've included the song 'fourth dimension' from the following demo.

1. Never Coming Home 02:24
2. Perverted Dreams 03:05
3. Mankinds Search For God 04:28
4. Death by Fire 04:25
5. Decapitation 03:34
6. Blood Sacrifice 05:19
7. Demonic Destruction 02:54
8. Or You'll Die 03:24
9. Possessions of the World 03:47
10. Tormented by Darkness 03:56
11.***bonus track= fourth dimension*** not included

Discarnated - "Deus Misereatur" (1993)

australian christian death metal from 1993. i came up listening to this sort of stuff so i am probably biased, still, its well worth a listen and nearly impossible to find.  keep in mind this was self released by the band in the days before cdr and mp3 and studio quality for the cost of a burrito in everyones basement.  somewhat surprisingly, vocalist Rowan Harm did go on to create the group Virgin Black after this band split and by now everyone knows, Virgin Black is crazy tasty.

1. Season of the Witch
2. Dancing Insane
3. Misery Guts
4. Gutted and Skinned
5. Black Cancer
5. Deus Misereatur
6. Violate the Grave

2. dead flesh
3. torn by dogs
4. Decomposition-Reconstitution (Valley of Dry Bones)
5. ripped in two
6. screaming fetus

*my two cents:  solid as solid gets. this is a fantastic heavy ass death metal tape.  however, there's one track here found to be really lacking...the title track of all things.   ordinarily i'd like the spice of different vocal styles and additional lady singin', but on this track...oh HELL NO. sorry, its just no good.  politics aside, the sung parts are awfully melodramatic. the shouted vocals also point out that the less clear metanoia's vocals are the better. musically the song is fine, but...ah screw it, just my two cents.

metanoia - "akeldama" (1995 self)

down-tuned death metal yums
and (obviously) my fave metanoia.

1. akeldama
2. death of the innocent
3. valley of dry bones
4. eternal destruction

Ω

Metanoia - "in darkness or in light" (1995 Rowe Productions)

1. Accute Obliteration (4:30)
2. Enslavement (4:36)
3. In Darkness or In Light (8:06)
4. On and On (4:19)
5. Dead Flesh (3:21)
6. Dimensions of Life (5:06)
7. Son of Man (4:10)
8. Torn By Dogs (3:31)
9. Death of Death (5:54)
10. Seventh Seal (8:34)

Ω

*my two cents: quite sure i'm in the minority here, but i didn't care for the more 'classic metal' influences on this one.  that being said, save for track 10 its a pretty good album.  if i had to be nit-picky...which i don't have to be but am anyway, i wish it were a little heavier on the 'death' than the 'metal' still....not bad, most tracks are incredible actually.  what the hell do i know...just my two cents.

metanoia - "don't walk dead" (1998 rowe productions)

1. First the Kingdom 3:12
2. Path 4:51
3. Don't Walk Dead 4:31
4. By His Word 4:48
5. The Blame 6:50
6. Yowie's Hilltop Adventure 8:01
7. Can You Feel It 3:44
8. Reflection 1:35
9. Grave Beyond a Slave 5:32
10. Threshold of the Annihilation 6:44
11. Kneeling Before Your Throne 4:25
12. Never 3:43
13. Bonus Track 3:09  (could have been really awesome, but the samples make it a far more silly affair than it should have been, you have to hear it)
Ω

*my two cents: pretty good album (compared)...australian death metal w/some didgeridoo...why not?!  still, i couldn't help but desire more of what i heard from metanoia during their 'akeldama' phase.  on its own, this isn't a bad entry in their catalogue.  the spoken vocals here are used far better than in the follow up album, but still seem strangely out of place. the strange 'add ons' and organ stuff is very welcome. this album is much better than its (pretty awful) cover artwork might suggest....but that's just my two cents.*
